At this time of year we celebrate the coming of the Savior—Jesus Christ. This is life giving truth. To deny it is to miss out on salvation. “For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist” (2 John 7). But to accept it leads to salvation. “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (1 Timothy 1:15). Whoever calls on the name of the Lord, expressing belief in Jesus, will be saved (Rom. 10:13-14).
Just as surely as Jesus came to save, Jesus is coming again to reign. “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him…The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 1:7 and 11:15). Jesus is coming again to reign on earth. May we look for that blessed hope and live with absolute surrender to His reign in our hearts right now.
Jesus came, Jesus comes. Jesus came to save. Have you believed in Jesus as your Savior? Jesus comes to reign. Are you looking for His coming?
